- I am a 42/43 year old husband and father currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. I work as an Environmental Specialist with the State of Tennessee. Before that, I was a science (and history and ESL) teacher from January 2003 to November 2009. I started teaching when I moved to Switzerland to teach at an “American” school in Switzerland for 4 1/2 years, then returned to the U.S. to teach at an all boys boarding school in North Carolina, for a year, and then finally for a year and half in Nashville (where I moved to get married), full time with Metro and substitute taught for area private schools. Prior to my move to Switzerland in December 2001, I lived in Nashville or Knoxville, Tennessee, Houston or Austin, Texas or Rocky Face, Georgia and was an environmental consultant (with two short stints with oil companies - don’t worry, I learned my lesson) traveling around the U.S. of A. While in college and for a bit afterwards, I was in the United States Marine Corps (Reserves), first as an Infantry mortarman and later as a Combat Engineer. With the Marines I traveled to various military bases around the U.S. as well as Panama and Saudi Arabia. I am a native of Houston, Texas, although both of my parents are from Kentucky and my wife is from west Tennessee.
